Taxi, tram or local transportation... by this point, you've figured out that getting to Antalya from anywhere is easy but if you'd like to begin your vacation stress-free, then it's a good idea to book a private transfer service. Transfer services to Antalya usually include a private car with driver from the airport to the hotel. A private transfer can cost more or less the same amount as taking public transport, between taxises or buses. Taking the taxi to your hotel is the most commonly used and often the most convenient option. If you’re travelling with a party of four, it’s even as cheap or expensive as airport shuttle service. Just walk out of the airport – disregard the hustlers inside the airport trying to give you a ride.
Antalya use almost all kind of money like dollar, euro but it's gonna be very beneficial and cheaper to use our own currency which is lira. If you don’t have Turkish liras on you, use one of the many ATMs in the airport to withdraw some cash money. None of the transportation options mentioned below will accept credit cards, foreign currencies or big Turkish lira notes except taxis. Make sure you have some 5, 10, 20 or maximum 50 notes handy.
If you are coming to Antalya by plane and your accommodation is close to the Old Town we recommend you to take tram. The tram station is right in front of the Terminal 1 at the airport. So if you land to the Terminal 2 you should take taxi until Terminal 1. If you land to Domestic Terminal you have to walk around 200 meters to get to the tram station. Once you are out of the building you should buy "TAM KART" from the machine. The machine accepts only turkish lira so, change your money or withdraw some turkish lira before you come out from the building. The closest station to the old town area is Ismet Pasha which is only 100 meters from the old town entrence.
Bus: Wide bus network
For some travelers, especially those coming from other Turkey cities, buses are an affordable and convenient travel option. Turkey has so much bus companies that should provide almost luxury services such as Pamukkale Turizm and Kamil Koc well as other local carriers.
Bus companies have free shuttles to the city center and the routes of these services cover almost the majority of the city.
If you don't want to prefer public transport after your journey, you can arrange transfers and get to the place where you will be staying in less time and comfort.
For bus routes in the city we recommend you to download the "moovit" app. which work quite well.
Other ways to reach Antalya are sea bus and Lycian way.
The sea bus serves for shorter distances for more touristic purposes. You can reach Kemer from Antalya Yacht Harbor by sea bus. Antalya-Cyprus sea voyages are also available in summer, but sea transportation still does not have a serious restructuring transportation way in Antalya.
